Split type AC/heat pump

Looking at replacing these units. 24000 btu heat pump with 2 12000 btu indoor units. Got a few bids of around $5k to remove old and replace new. Is that about right price wise?

Had a new mini split installed last year, it cost about $2200 installed. I received quotes as high as $3300

This is my business cost for just two double headed units is 3400 plus lineset and wiring little high I'm normally around 4200-4500

I agree a little high. Gonna keep looking around.

You will most likely need the outside unit also. depending on the brand it is in the ball park for one outside unit, stand, pad, lineset, wire and lineset cover.Would be a little high for what we sell but like I say it depends on the brand and the seer rating.

But don't buy cheap dump it's not worth it I fix that junk all the time stay with Samsung or something close

Got three bids. All for Panasonic units. Prices are for outside compressor, 2 indoor units, lineset, removal of old units and install new ones. Was told that Panasonic bought out Sanyo and they are one of the better units. Called a couple others that had Samsung and Mitsubishi, prices about the same except the Mitsu was $400 less. Probly go with a local guy and the Panas. unit

for you guys that install these things I have a question, I have a Fujitsu 18000 BTU ton & a half, it was installed last spring, the a/c seemed to work last summer but this past fall when I tried the heat it ran for about 5 minutes then quit. The tech has been out here 5 times trying to get it to work, he replaced boards, sensors ect. Fujitsu seems to think it's a Freon charge problem or restriction of some type. Last time the guy came out to fix it he drained all the Freon out of it and it was to cold to recharge it, it's been sitting all winter with no Freon in it. If he installed it with the wrong size line set would that create a problem? or any other ideas?
