gonehunting
My dad is looking at Eskimo ice augers . Either the Mako or Z51. Both 8". Question I have is the Quantum blade more similar to a Strikemaster Lazer or Chipper. Guessing the Lazer. Does a strikemaster bit fit on an Eskimo powerhead? Reason I ask is that a lot of lakes in ND have sediment either in the ice or blown onto the ice. It seems to dull Lazer blades rather fast. He lives in ND and I want a reliable auger for him. Any suggestions
Lusid
I run a Mako - I can only speak on that. It rips thru ice like none other. Video is from 2/2013
fisherman-andy
Eskimo quantum blades is a combo shaver/chipper type. Its much more durable to wear & tear so it doesnt dull as easily as Mora lazer blades used on Strikemaster. Unless you were to directly drill into the sand or pile of rocks I dont see a problem with the Eskimo drill unit.
