2011 kia sportage

2011 Kia Sportage cold weather issue. After the vehicle sits for an extended period (during the day at work or over night etc.) the brakes feel as though the pads become frozen to the rotors. Upon putting the car in reverse, slight acceleration is required for the brakes to 'break free'. After this, the car rolls freely and the brakes operate as they should with no feeling of being hung up or pulling to one side or the other.

Is it likely that a thin layer of ice forms between the pads and rotors causing this issue?

Thanks

Happened to me in a nissan a few times. it was the drivers side rear wheel sticking where the parking brake is located. i used the parking brake once and it got frozen. took a hair dryer and a rubber mallet to it and it broke loose. but after that i think there was still slack causing it to stick every once in awhile in wet/freezing weather.
