Reverence
I am from central minnesota. My buddies and I go on the annual ice fishing trip and this year we brought up kabe. We found an old lake map (1990) of kabe and on it described that the lake is basically inactive during the winter. Now we usually fish mille lacs or red, does anyone have insite on kabe, is it worth the money and time or is it going to be a struggle? Finns
Might have better luck posting down in the Crane/Kabe forum.
Farley
Ice fishing Kab requires snowmobiles and portables to get to any good fishing spots. But I would not say its inactive during the winter. We did pretty good up there on walleyes two years ago also caught a lot of tulibees. Tried for crappies too with no luck. I have a cabin up there and that was the first time we've ice fished Kab and we are planning on doing it again soon.
Reverence
Thank you Farley. I was looking for some people with stories because we really haven't heard any word of ice fishing on Kabe from any of the locals around here. With Red Lake being the hype(over fished in my opinion) and Mille Lacs having troubles I'm looking forward to this trip to Kabe.
