Gear bag ideas

I am looking for a bag to hold my odds and ends. A few small tackle boxes, a flashlight, maybe a thermos of coffee. I like the size and construction of the Clam flasher bag but the zipper aren't conducive to top loading. Definitely needs a waterproof base as I am using a hub style shelter more and more often.

I would appreciate any idea you have but not looking for a 5 gallon pail or cooler. Been there done that.

I have a duck blind bag that fits the bill. It just big enough for an FL-8 and 4 silos in the main compartment. It has a sort of fabric covered plastic bottom. I think it is a guide series, otherwise C store has some soft sided tackle boxes that have a hard plastic bottom.

5 gal pail cheaper and easy to find and carry

The 5 gallon pail doesn't work for a few reasons. Sometimes I pack a few food items and put it in the fridge the night before. Bucket doesn't fit. Sometimes I like to sit at the kitchen table and sort through my lures and what not. Wife will tolerate a bag that resembles a purse, but she wont allow a pail on the bale for any length of time! Lastly, I'd like to have a few compartments to keep things organized. A pocket for my gulp, maybe another for the pliers and flashlight. Bigger area in the middle for a beverage or two and the tackle.
