I am thinking it's something with the kill switch, I'm thinking something got disconnected during travel...from what I could tell all the wires from the on/off switched looked good but couldn't follow them up into the auger...going to check that out as well....if you guys can think of anything else I should look at let me know....Thanks}
CaptainMusky
Check for spark. If you don't have any them worry about the kill switch or other issues Replace your gas and vent lines while you are at it.
bigstick56
Do you really think the lines needTo be replaced already? This auger was brand new last winter...I am going to check spark in a little bit I will post if I find anything....thanks
silverbulletguy
Do you use stabill or something like it ? If not the gas in the line could've possibly froze on the drive up there. I'd try the spark plug first(easy to rule out). Good luck.
fish_eat_sleep
Check the 2 little wires running from the on/off switch (at the switch and under the gas tank). check spark plug, primer bulb fills and works? hear a click when you flip the switch to on? throttle wire connected to plastic arm? any of this might have gotten bumped.. check all the uncommon things that seem like common sense.Last year mine wouldn't start and i was actually flipping the switch to off every time!!! Silly me..
Northlander
Some augers will get what I call a vapor lock when bounced around on a long trip in a truck or on a sled/wheeler. I had a auger that I had to open open the gas tank to "burp" the pressure that had built up.Its either gas, too much or too little or bad spark. Check them and the on/off switch and let us know what you find out.
unotrouble2
Had the same thing happen to me -- i ran it on and off during the summer then a month or so ago tried it again (same auger) and it wouldn't start - did everything you tried including changing plug - it had a spark -- took it to Strikemaster, they replaces a diaphragm and a block ( a piece between the fuel intake and the piston) which wasn't allowing compression - the block part (whatever it was called) is a know issue so it didn't cost me anything. maybe that's the prob - works great now, used it over Thanksgiving, cut like a dream (of course only 7 inches of ice)

Silly me.. Same thing happened to me. Wires on on/off popped out. I also have issues with moving the switch to off while starting. They need to move that switch or get something that isn't so easy to bump out so position.
Fowlmouth
Take the spark plug, put a little gas in the cylinder. put plug back in and try to fire. If it starts then you know you have spark and are having a fuel delivery issue.
bigstick56
Just tore the motor apart, no juice to the plug, putPlug in buddies same auger and it fires right up no issues, looks like I will have to run to big lake possibly? We were trying to take the red cover off the motor, but that looked like a littleMore than I was capable of at this point in time....unless any of you guys on here are up for a challenge, have a trip plannedFor this weekend so I need it fixed this week....PM me if you have a clue what your doing.... CaptainMusky
How did you check for spark? So you proved the plug is good by throwing in your buddies auger but that dissent alleviate the countless other culprits. Pull plug out reconnect to spark plug wire and the rest against the cylinder head (metal surface) and turn over the motor to check for spark. Make sure switch is on obviously. If no spark then its electrical. If there is spark then its fuel related. If fuel related put a little bit of fuel in the cylinder then out plug back in and try to start. It may take a few time of doing this but it should run. If electrical start at that on switch. If you unplug both those wires and attach to each other that should replicate an "on" scenario then try to start.I would also replace those gas lines because they are a know problem. Mine is 3 years old and replaced them already.
harvey lee
Yup, those gas lines can crack or break and one cannot see a smaller crack in the line.I had to take mine to a shop a few weeks back as it would not start. I checked for spark and put gas in the carb and it fired.Checked the new fuel lines I put on last spring and they looked good.Took it to a buddy of mine who repairs anything with a small engine.Ended up to be a smaller chunk of oil in the carb that would not let the gas through the carb. never seen that before. I run Amsoil oil and always use Sta bill but I did not start it this off season as I typically and some oil sat in 1 spot and kinda like gelled into a ball and plugged the gas path. I believe it was plugged at the end of the fuel line that feed's the carb.
bigstick56
Hey guys, after doing what I could at home and not being abloe to figure it out, I brought my auger up to Big Lake to have some pro's take a look at it, they diagnosed it within 10 min, had it repaired and back to me the following day. It was a cracked / shattered ignition coil. I guess I learned the hard, and spendy way that I need to get an auger mount for my wheeler and not let it bounch in the bottom of my auger.....She is up and running like a champ now. Shout out to the guys @ H2O Outfitters in big lake, they run a top notch outfit.
20lbSloughShark
Just for future knowledge, if a 2 stroke is flooded, the cure is choke off, full throttle, and pull like mad.
