Ice Fishing for Muskie

With most of the lakes locking up now and still a few days left in the season anyone going to try and do some ice fishing for muskies. I got a few suckers left and was thinking about trying it, looks like the ice will be safe enough by the weekend if it isn't already.

What kind of rod would you use? Dont you need massive amounts of force on the hookset for those sucker rigs?

Tried it many times. Caught fish but not really worth it. Hurts your arm when you wrap line around it to set the hooks on a fifty incher too. Best way is to use the pole you normally use for sucker fishing and set the hook!!! Still not worth the time...

I say go for it! I would rig those suckers up on a tip up, and wear some leather gloves for the hookset/battle.
