SwivelDigger
Has anyone ever used a 597 in close proximity to an LX 7? I was wondering about interference issues? I know the 35,45,and 55's are on a different frequency but I think the 597 is on the same as a marcum or vex. I kinda wanted the GPS option on the 597 and to use it in the house for the wife/kids
basssmasher*
Don't know if this will help you or not but I fished a 597 last yr next to an lx-1 with no problems..we were maybe 4 feet apart
SwivelDigger
Thanks teejay, I talked to an "expert" at the store with the goose logo and he didn't even know they made an ice version. Then I went to the foremost outfitter and their "expert" told me there is no interference rejection on it so I had to point out the "10 channels of interference rejection" on the box that it comes in. Still not sure what I want to do but I appreciate your comments
ETH310
I just set my 597 for ice for the same reason, but haven't used it yet. There was another thread on here a week or two ago on the same subject and someone said they tested it out by putting a marcum or vex transducer in the same hole as the 597 and had no interference. Hope that helps.
ETH310
Also check out the popular auction HSOforum for the carry case (search for humminbird ptu-c). I got it for under a $100 with free shipping. It comes with a battery and everything else you need except the transducer. I found the transducer (part xi-9-20) for $53 and free shipping. Just google that part number and find the best deal. When you set it up, the unit will be in simulation mode. There's a YouTube video that explains how to turn that off. I can post a link if you'd like.

Day Dreamer
I used my 597 a couple of times last year along side a Vex and didn't have any issues.
