100 Days

I don't know what all this count down business is all about... for me 15 minutes, and I'm in the land of milk and honey trout fishing in Iowa.

But I digress-- LOL at 10 days to ice.... I can only dream, 30 ice fishing rods, 15 tip ups, shack, heater, auger, and kids all locked and loaded for that first BIS (Butt In Seat) call...

Extending a trout season further into the fall is a mistake. Let them spawn and rest. People have had 6 months to catch them. And it's not like it's incredibly hard to catch a trout most of the time. I'm fine with opening the season up earlier in the year once the spawn is done. Realistically, Wisconsin should try to match what Minnesota's seasons are. I rarely here anglers in MN complaining about the 3 months off as most of us realize that the fish need to be left alone. If you want to leave some ponds open for people to bonk the stockers in, I'm good with that. But letting them rip spawning fish off of redds in the fall is a mistake, IMO.

Where at that DNR link does it reference extending inland seasons? I can't seem to find it.
