lake benton to marshall area ice conditions?

couple of us are looking to do some hunting in the area this weekend before we put the stuff away for the year. Curious what the ice conditions are like on some lake in that area.

Lakes are mostly open, but colder temps are forecasted starting this evening. Took a drive around southwestern part of Lyon Co. on Monday, didn't see many ducks but were a few flocks of geese around.

Froze and thawed 5 times now.At the time everything is open 42 degree overnight low opened all water with high winds.

Most waters are going to be froze solid by Saturday morning.

I think there will be enough wind the next couple of days that will keep lakes open, but we will see

Your looking at a low of 9 of Friday and 10 on Saturday. With the water as cold as it is now I dont think it matters if it stays windy. I think she will all be froze solid by sunday morning imo. Stinks for me as I cant get out until Monday.

Hunted today. Lakes are open yet but if that wind lies down it's over. All the WMAs were froze already at 2:00 p.m. after being open yesterday.

I guess I was more worried about lakes being froze over prior to today or tonight. Still going to give it a go and see what happens.

Lake Okabena was froze over this morning. Sioux Falls is predicting two below for a low tonight. They will be ice fishing some of the shallow lakes come Sunday around here. Good luck Delta let us know how it goes.

-3 as I rolled through Pennock on the way to work this morning. Hope you packed your skates. Big lake sounded open getting my truck started.
