hi i just got a abu 4601 ab round bait cast reel. on the top is a switch that says on off what does it do. if you turn it to on it like pops up and stops the spool but i dont see how its usable. works great got for cheap just dont know what it does thanks .

Probably a flipping switch which allows the reel to spool out line as long as the thumb bar is depressed. when off you will have just an ordinary casting reel.
