What to do with the wind....

Recommended Posts

Ok, maybe the dumbest question you'll read on here all season, but, same woods, sign all over, with the winds not much has been moving. Tomorrow, pretty strong south winds, I have to options, one stand facing south and one facing north, which one should I sit in? i'm thinking north facing with a little doe pee to cover my scent. Any info would be great, thanks!

It would take a lot of doe pee to completely cover your scent!

I'd pick the stand on the north side of the most likely area you expect to see the deer and put your scent wicks up wind but off to each side in a distant but shootable area from that stand.

No scent can fully cover or scent we stink. I'm a scent freak and have the cover the clothes etc.

Sat at 11 the biggest buck I've ever laid eyes on comes up at 15 yards and smells me, came from a spot I've never had a deer come from at it was down wind of me with scent wicks out, he busted me. The biggest deer are big for a reason, I would play the wind put your face in it.
