Won't be long now

I checked some lakes west of my place and found one starting to ice over. it is about 10 to 15 feet out from shore in the picture. this lake and corner is always one of the first to freeze each year by my place.

here it is. won't be long now.

You ever ice fish that lake in recent years Brad? I've thought about bringing the kids out there but have yet to do it. We've had some fun in the summer, although the pannies were definitely on the small side.

my lake(63 acres) still had ice all the way across this afternoon. But 48 with a south wind tomorrow will cancel that

I normally only fish it like one to three times right at first ice. like you say the size is small but it still takes care of the early ice itch. no one really fishes it in the winter do to needing a 4X4 to get there, even then I had trouble last year. I almost got my Tahoe stuck down there. the northern might have some size to them with all those small gills for food.
