New auger purchase question

cold one sd

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of going to a 4 stroke auger this year and have a question or two about them. I want to be able to redrill holes and have a small enough unit to drill inside my wheel house. At this time I have a 2 hp Jiffy Stealth with an Ice House handle on it which doesn't seem to be available on a 4 stroke auger. The choice seems to be between A Jiffy Pro 4 Lite or 4 G Lite and a Strikemaster Lazer with the Honda engine. It would be nice if Jiffy would offer the 4 Lite augers with the Stealth Drill or I could have a Strikemaster/Honda and not have to buy a separate drill with a chipper blade. How are the Strikemaster/Honda augers for redrilling holes? Are the handles narrow enough on the Strikemaster/Honda narrow enough use in a smaller area like my ice house handles are?

I purchased the Honda last year. After months of thought and contemplation on which auger to buy I chose the Honda. One of my biggest concerns was re-drilling holes as I also fish in a house quit a bit. I can honestly say I am spool glad in my decision. I redrilled many many many holes with it and never had a problem once. It is a great auger. Being a jiffy guy for many years it was hard to switch from it but so glad I did.
