Rippinlip
I do use one regularly, in ladder stands, portables and my climbers.Has anyone used the Tree Spider Micro Harness?I am just looking for something that will be lighter(this one is under 2lbs), yet very affective.I do not need my family to worry about me.The ones we have are over 5 lbs a piece and the buckles are a pain in the rear.Opinions? TattooedHunter
I like the Hunter Safety systems ultralight i just picked up. Used it to help set my stand, fairly comfy and easy on and off.
92python
I have a HSS and don't like it nearly as much as the one I lost which may have been and an Ol' Man. It was easy to deal with, light, and didn't tangle. I think Ol' Man went out of business but the Muddy looks similar but maybe better. The Muddy has bino straps / clips built into the harness. When I had this style harness I took some tangle free decoy cord and strung it through the lanyard hole for my rangefinder then tied loop knots in both ends of the cord and used those loops to hook into the integrated bino clips. I still struggle finding the perfect spot for the rangefinder since I lost that harness.

Bear55
I have the Tree Spider Speed Harness and absolutely love the thing. Had an old clunker before and this one is light years ahead as far as light weight and comfort. I've tried my best to tangle it but no luck. Throw it over your shoulders, snap on the two leg buckles and the little chest buckle and you done. Looks like the micro harness has a few more hoops to jump through but does like super light weight. BryanL
I agree with Bear55. I really like the TreeSpider speed harness. It really is simple and feels pretty light. I was going to get the micro harness, but the first thing I do with a tangled up harness is toss it back and not use it. Just looks like it would cause some troubles. I would rather have a harness I know I will use every time than one I may leave at the truck if I'm in a rush.
DRH1175
When I bought mine last year it was between the tree spider and the Gorilla G30. I bought the G30 and really like it. Hardly know I have it on. And very easy with the buckles.
Boonie5
I have the Muddy with the bino straps and it works great IMO
Lip_Ripper Guy
I just picked up the HSS Hybrid. I really like the built in pockets, the binocular/range finder straps, and the fact that it is impossible to tangle up. Some of the other models are good, but I chose the Hybrid due to the thinner shoulder straps....I want to keep as much orange exposed as possible during gun season. surewood
I have the Gorilla G30. Comfortable, and I really like the quick connect.
walleyeguy7
I use the spider micro and I love it. Its an added bonus if you've got the scent blocker suit that accommodates the harness with snaps. That's originally why I bought it and it snaps right into the jacket and never has to be removed unless you wash the clothing. Needless to say you would rarely forget your harness! MichaelSwan
Been using my TreeSpider Micro Harness for the last year, so small light and snaps right into the scentblocker jacket, no need to two items to put on.. its the bomb.
Rippinlip
Just was PM'd by another member reminding me of the harness snaps inside the suit and since I own that suit it looks like I will be investing in that harness. Thanks for all the responses. PackerBacker12
I used a harness for the first time this year bowhunting. Just the one that comes with a tree stand. I noticed that if i had to turn around and shoot one way, the strap that connects from the harness to the tree is to short and restricts me. Do all harnesses have that limited mobility or is it just the cheap ones that do that?
Finlander
Tie a 1/2" rope to the harness and attach a 3/8" Prussick knot to the 1/2" rope so you can adjust the length to your liking! Works for me!
PropsterII
Can't speak for all the others but the Tree Spiders use a longer tether and have a bungee stretch effect so you have more "swing".
snapcrackpop
The rock climbing harnesses attached to a sliding prusik knot on the safety rope won't. The standard hunting harnesses will. What ever style of safety harness you choose, please keep using it! Rather miss a deer than fall.
