I have a 2001 Mercury XR6 150 and was wondering how people usually treated theirs for winter, I have winterized smaller motors before just wondering if there is anyother tips or tactics for this motor that people have had luck with.

Any input would be great!

I have a '97 150 efi and here is how we winterize it, and have for 15 years... gets used until end of Muskie season, taken out first trip usually April.

Always use good gas, sometimes some Seafoam sometimes not- usually before winter try to use some.

Try to put it to bed with as little gas in tank as possible, but doesn't really matter we have found.

Put it in garage.

Drain lower unit, put new lube in.

Occasionally charge the batteries, once a month.

Take it out in spring, fill it with new good (non-oxy) gas and run it.

New impeller every few years, new plugs every few years. That's it. Good luck!
