3 hunts in and I have a dog with an injured foot/leg. hunted saturday and sunday for a little bit each day, then hunted again tuesday night for a couple hours. Then Wednesday night, she wouldn't put weight on a front leg. felt from hip to toes, she seemed to be bothered at the toes/foot. Not sure what happened, when I came home from work she was fine. Hoping it just got stepped on by my other farm dog and it's short term. I'll let her rest a couple days and see what happens. Bummer that it's right away in the season!!! Saturday in the wind, saw one hen and one rooster too far out to shoot at. Sunday in the heat, one hen. Tuesday in the rain.....drumroll..... 4 roosters (3 were nice big ones, not yearlings) and 2 hens. All on public land surrounded by corn north of hutch. So much for there being no birds to hunt!!! Can't wait to get out again, hope my girl heals up nicely and quickly!!!
