2002 Honda Rancher 4x4 ES

I have heard about a manual shifter that you can get from honda in case a person was to have trouble with the electric shift. I am curious if this shifter is an extra charge? or is it "hidden" on the machine itself somewhere? I bought this unit new and have never experienced any kind of trouble but i do alot of ice fishing and can be in some pretty remote areas...thinking this would be a good thing to have in my tool pouch under the seat.

I thought it was included with the machine? My friends have 2 Foreman ES's and they had manual shifters in the tool kit.

If I remember, they started as a standard extra part with new machines when they first came out years ago. Now, you have to purchase the shifter, I think. A dealer would know for sure.

Look in your trunk, next to your tool kit. It clips into the bottom of your trunk.

I bought a 2003 450 ES and the manual shifter is in the tool box. You can only use it to choose one gear just to get you back to camp or whatever in case the elecric shift craps out on you. In other words you can't run through all the gears but you can choose any one you wish.
