Eskimo Quickfish 3 Info

Hey guys,

I have the opportunity to buy a quickfish 3 (hub, not flip) for really cheap. I have a Team Wild 2 person flip over, but I would use this essentially for when there are 3 people along. My question is, are these big enough for 3 people to fish comfortably? Also, are they a decent house, what are some of the pros and cons of the quickfish model? It is red, not green, not sure if that means it is older or newer? I am not looking for a comparison to a clam hub or another hub, as the only reason I am buying it is because the price is right.

My #1 concern is how do the zippers work in cold weather? I had a shappell house that the zippers would freeze up and then just completely stop working all together, and I hated it!

Thanks, Brian-

I've had a QF3 for a few years. Been in 50mph winds. Slept in if for several days...etc.. I'd surely recommend this product.

However, no way am i fishing with 3 people in that house. No way to fish 6 lines in water deeper than 10' without tangling lines. Think about where you put chairs, tackle, holes, feet, etc. 2 people it is a comfortable house. 3- you're pushing it if you want to still use 2 holes per person.

Long durations in the house and your zippers will freeze up...That happens in all non-insulated houses due to condensation from your propane heater.

I LOVE the vents(Windows) on the QF3. Doors work great. Anchors are best on the market, holds up in wind, etc. If you're getting a good price on it, don't hesitate to buy it.

Truth nailed it pretty well. I've had my QF3 for quite a few years and it's a great product. Lightweight, durable, easy to use, zippers work well even in very cold weather (try to avoid getting them wet, obviously). You'll want to use the screws to secure it to the ice in winds above ~10mph or so; less than that and you can just bank the flaps with snow.

And you DEFINITELY cannot fish 3 people out of it unless 2 of the three are hobbits. It's perfect for two, though, even two pretty big guys. Me and my brother are both about 6'3" and can fish out of it no problem at all.

yeah good luck with 3 idk why they even call it a 3 by the time you get your heater, chairs, etc in there you can barely move with 2 guys. I bought the 6 man one last year and used it for when me and the buddies went out. I did have 5 people in it one day but we werent fishing too much mostly slamming beers but its doable. but even the 6 man you only wanna drill 6 holes max unless you wanna tangle with your buddies.
