Big Country
Any body else here going north to chase them snow devils this fall? We leave the 28th and am hearing great reports of the birds already dropping in. My favorite bird to chase!

Big Country
Great to hear others are going as well. We have farmer friends near the Quill lakes area that said the harvest went well and hunters are banging away. We usually go the last week of September into the first week of October. This year it will be a week later and we are hoping to see the big migration hit while we are there. Most years as we are leaving the birds are really dropping in heavy which makes it tough to leave. But one always risks freeze up which can ruin a trip. We also enjoy hitting ducks over water and hope for no ice! Good luck to all, be safe, and enjoy our neighbors to the north. Great people. lifterpuller
Had another great trip. Likely going back up in about a week to hunt ducks.Anyone up there now? Reports?
Handsonthepole
Just back from 8 day trip in north central SK. Tons of ducks but the geese were just starting to trickle in. The lack of Specks was disappointing. First time in many years we didn't limit out on darks. Was a great trip all around though and if you are just heading up you are hitting it perfectly. Big Country
Our trip went well. We only had two guy's this year and decided to stay put in the Buchannon/Rama area where are farmer friends live. The snows were down heavy before we arrived but bumped south. There were enough to keep us busy, but very low numbers compared to past hunts. The mallards were thick as were the blacks, or Canada's. Lot's of moose bull's looking for a friendly cow. I'm certain we could have capitalized on snows if we moved, but didn't want the headache of a large fuel bill. Will post pics when I get them from my cousin. fishhound2013
Just got back from up there myself and had trouble with getting the geese in right. Killed a few geese but nothing to scream about. The ducks were pretty right up there though.
