How do you find an empty trailer lot on a lake to rent long term?

Question

I am looking for a good fishing lake and don't want the hassle of a cabin.

I am looking for a trailer/RV lot on a lake to rent long term and don't know how to go about finding them. It's mainly for my Dad who's retired and wants to get away during the summer.

I have a handful of lakes in mind, but don't know where to start to find the lots.

I'm by Willmar (my lots.I rent 2 with a 3ed next year Maybe?) I dont advertise to much, just a ad in the local area paper in Feb,March if one is unrented.Lots go quickly.I never see any in the cities papers or many in the local papers. If you ask around it may benifit you.Mine came to be rented by some young couple who drove around asking about empty lots.I never thought about renting,I dont want to be a landloard!! When they offered and took over grass cutting, tree trimming, dock upkeep and some upgrades to the lot in exchange of rent. I jumped on it.Alltho I installed elec.for a camper hookup,a line for water to their 30 ft camper.I gave them the bill without labor in return for renting the lot for 300 a month untill the original costs are paid. The county parks charge 485 a month.

They took it upon themselves to ask around and find a lot.

Take the list of lakes, search for resorts/campgrounds on each lake. Check the web pages of the resorts/campgrounds. Also resort associations in the area. For example Lake Vermilion resort association web site has a feature to search for available lodging in several categories, one of which is RV camping. It returned several results.

I presume you need something with a hook up of some kind.
