2008 dodge grand caravan radiator cooling fan stays on when ignition is off

I got a dodge van with a 3.8 and the cooling fan on the radiator stayed on after my buddy shut it off. Calls me and a hour and a half later and I went there and it was still running. I just disconnected the battery posts. It happened only one other time and that was after I washed it. Any ideas on how to reset it or fix WHAT THE PROBLEM is?? Thanks 57

I would suspect a sticking relay? look in your owners manual, it may list which relay it is, replace it with a new one?

I don't have access to a wiring diagram to check it out.

It has a solid state cooling fan relay mounted behind the plastic front bumper cover. If you remove the screws from the top where the grill attaches you will be able to see it riveted towards the drivers side of the bumper. It is almost always the cause of this problem.

Hey, thanks Jeremy. I will look when I get home. Is it easiest to trace that tofrom the plugin on the fan motor to the relay? I am assuming that it would be. I will check though.
