prov1900
Since the flood of 2011, one of my beloved oxbows of the Mo River has been infested/inundated with Asian/Silver Carp. Fished all last week and never got so much as a nibble from a bass. The water clarity was horrible and one would believe that the fishing quality of years past is now a happy memory. Going at idle speed with the big motor produces amazing nearby jumps of the invasive species. Those things can really rocket. Watched some kids spend their day on the water spinning circles in their john boat catching those nasty things. They told me that they had caught 44 that way, i.e. they literally jump in the boat. Anyone else seeing these fish? If not, count your lucky stars. They are prolific breeders. DNR has no plan in place for eliminating the species as that hasn't been invented yet, short of draining the lake.
