Planning a fishing weekend at the end of September. Would like to chase walleye and bass (small or largemouth depending on the lake). Which lake would you all suggest? Any suggestions on places to stay on a budget? Thanks in advance.

I'd pick Leech for walleyes and Largemouth. Half your walleyes will be slot fish but you'll have a hack at a meal if you choose to. Since you're going after Labor Day I'd think if you hunt around you'll have reduced rates almost anywhere.

The water may be cooling by then (who knows with this year) and you've got a good chance at a nice walleye bit.
