Led Strip Lights in Wheelhouse

Hello,

Just curious if anyone out there has used the led strip lights that you can cut to desired lengths in their wheel houses. Need to figure out some new lighting and think the strip lights would be pretty cool and easy. Also if anyone has any pictures of their lights and what brand of lights they used that would be awesome!!!.

I have the strip lights with the adhesive back that can be cut to length and they worked great in my permanent house, I got mine off the bay site for $10 per 14ft strip.

I am looking at these exact ones for my 6.5'X10' wheel house ceiling. How many feet did you use? Is the light not too harsh?

It may just be personal preference, but I've found that straight LED light is very harsh on the eyes over time. I've also found that regular RV style lights are warm and strain my eyes over time. Mixing the two however makes for a natural type light that is like the three bears. Not too harsh, not too warm, just right.

Play with it a little. Everyone is different, but it may be worth checking out for yourself.

I have pulled the guts out of household fixtures with a white globe, and replaced with 1157 type LED bulbs and receptacles. Works very well to sooth the light.

That's what I did as well. It works pretty well, but I think the original bulbs were a little brighter (but used 10x as much electricity).

do these 12v strip lights come with two wires that you can just splice into the existing wiring? Or do they need to be soldered?
