Big Dawg or Nasty

I'm going to pick one of these two rods up tomorrow and for the life of me I cannot decide which one. First of all, should I just go ahead and buy a 15 ft xxxh telescopic rod and stay ahead of the curve? Muskie rods keeeep getting longer and bigger.

enough ranting...

I don't use any super heavy two pound bulldawgs or other plastics. I do throw the occasional pounder but mostly supers and mags. Also some 9 or 10 inch deep divers. I own 2 12s and a couple 10's that don't get much use, I stick to 8's and smaller single bladed bucktails.

I own a 7ft h 76h 79mh and an 86 xxh compre which is heavier than hell and in tournaments It can be a bear for me to throw a lot.

I would buy another brand but I'm special apparently and I get them cheap(kinda).

Does the 9 ft h Big nasty lag much on the figure 8 when heavier and harder pulling baits? I can't stand rods that lag on figure 8's thats why I only use small cranks on my 79 mh. I know there is an argument happening on this site at the moment but thats where I stand-->stiffer=easier to pull.

I only want one more rod in my arsenal to cover what I do so lets hear it!

I have 2 Big Dawgs and 1Big Nasty-both are outstanding! I agree though the Nasty is better for your use. Make sure you play with it awhile before you buy and put a reel on it too. Its a big rod so make sure you are comfortable with it. i paired mine with a Tranx and it works great bringing in the blades. the tip is fasterso has more of a whip to it than the Dawg which is obviously stiffer.

I checked them both out at the store and I am going with the full cork grip big nasty. I'm about 6'1" and the length of the Nasty feels completely comfortable.

In what instance or with what choice of lures would you suppose the big dawg would be a better choice? Neither of them are rated to throw lures over that are actually 16oz. Dawg=12oz baits. Nasty=8oz baits
