Best Portage Boat Set-up

So who's got what and what works. Did the whole Canadian fishing this year and loved it...but it did require some portaging.

I have nothing and everything was borrowed. Looking for advice on two person boats that is lightweight and pretty stable, gas motor, portaging advice (custom rigging your boat with poles to carry it easier) or other good tips.

Thanks,

CC

CC,

I don't have any great advice on makes/models but you might want to post this in the BWCA section. I know when I am fishing Fall Lake outside Ely, there are a ton of boats going into Basswood at the launch and they all are set up for portaging. I have talked to a few locals that portage a lot and they had 80 cc dirtbike tires on there boat. Good luck

We portage into the bwca every opener and we have tried many setups. The best boat we have tried is a lund c14 I believe it is the shallower and skinnier lund. Get a 2 stroke the lighter the better and make sure to max out the power as in these little boats when you load them down you need all the power you can get. Also run 3 sets of oar locks as the more people you have rowing the faster you can go. If you want more info let me know.
