I hunt there you just have to be willing to work a bit.. Prepare for a long drag..... I got a pretty nice buck last year there you plan on bow or shotgun?

398269_519548274723814_1384864097_n.jpg That is the one i got last year opening day about 30 mins past legal shooting hours... Like I said you just have to put in hard work.. Big part of it is hunting against other hunters.. Use them to your advantage most the time alot of them are late to get into the woods two years ago i was in my stand and a hunter pushed 2 deer to me when he was walking through the woods across the swamp...

My advice is hike pretty good into the woods i hunt on the islands with woods on them in the middle of the swamp..... The santiago side has some nice patches that butt up next to farmers fields.. Find a good deer trail and hit them when they go to bed..... I will be out there for bow as well so stay off my island ;-)

Definitely some good hunting to be had if you are willing to work for it...but... that is largely because of the very tight regulations in PARTS of the refuge. Make sure to check out the refuge regs thoroughly and that you are hunting in part of the refuge that is open to the kind of hunting you are doing.
