Blueberry Reports

I'm heading up tomorrow and will try to pick some blueberries off the Gunflint. Word was locals were getting a few small ones last week. Things should be a little further along by now. We'll see - late spring. But lots of snow and warm weather usually is good for the crop.

Surprised people are finding any. Raspberries aren't even up around here yet, and the blue's usually follow around mid-rasp season...

I stand corrected... buddy just e-mailed and said his co-worker got a gallon last night! Get after 'em!

I picked a gallon in a couple hours on Thursday, Cook county. Some plants were ripe and ready, others needed some time. Just gotta pick your spots. Should be excellent this week! Had them in pancakes this morning, real good!

Wild raspberries are going strong here and the boys work at a berry farm and they have been picking so many blueberries they are looking like smurfs
