Rock Bass,To eat or not to eat?

Recommended Posts

OK first off, a Rock Bass is a Sunfish. A Blue Gill is a Sunfish. A Pumpkin Seed is a Sunfish. A Warmouth is a Sunfish.if you are eating Rock Bass you are eating Sunfish. If you are catching them in the same area they are most likely eating the samething and the water temp is the same.

Rock bass tend to like warmer water then some other fish in the sunfish family. All, yes all fish taste better if they come from colder water. Even the Holly Walleye doesn't taste as good from warm water. I would say a Rock Bass from cool water would taste better then a Walleye from warm water. Stress out lactic acid warm water fish just are not good eats. Plus warm water fish tend to get wormie.

Get over it. It's 95% mental, 5% water temp.

I found a real fat one today,it looked like a body builder rock bass .I admit I was thinking when I was taking the hook out that I could put that bad boy on a rotisseri while I'm brushing butter over it.Maybe some hash browns too .lol
