Muskies above Brainerd dam

There always were muskies up there, albeit in low numbers. In recent years, Brainerd Fisheries has been stocking the snot out of it for about 5-7 years. I can't remember exactly the number of years. There should be some 40+ inch fish up there by now. Some of the first fish that went in were carry-over fish (probably 3-4 year old fish) from ponds in our area (Little Falls). Hauled them up there myself.

it is a better pike Lake then it is muskies. muskies over 32 inches are very rare. the fish they have been stocking in there can roam the river as far as North of aitkin. probably close to a hundred miles of the river.

Have you actually been seeing or catching a few of the smaller muskies?
