fishfinder72
Just curious if anyone has an iGrill and has any input? I have a buddy with one and says it works great. I'll be adding one to my grilling equipment soon.
SkunkedAgain
I don't but did consider it. If I remember, the main reason I went with a Maverick was so that I didn't get my phone too dirty/greasy while cooking. I suppose that's not a huge concern for most folks
wormdunker
Ok first of all if you do not have an instant read thermometer, Thermapen I would get that first. There is absolutely no better tool that will make the most difference in the outcome of your food. They are about $80 and worth every penny.Second my brother got the Igrill and did not have a good experience. We both ended up buying theMaverick ET-732 remote thermometer and have had great luck. It is a timer/thermometer with remote. You can set high low alarms, timer alarms and monitor grill temp and meat temp all at once.
SkunkedAgain
wormdunker is right on, especially about making sure that you have a good instant thermometer too. Although to be the devil's advocate, it is neat to have a meat temp app on your phone and it probably works decent for a variety of cooking situations.I also seem to remember from my research that the iGrill and Maverick were comparable in price but the Maverick had more functionality
