Military Ammo Identification

While cleaning out some drawers in the garage, I found some ammo that I had forgotten about. It is 30:06 with black tips. I know what Ball ammo looks like (no colored tips). Also tracers have Red tips. What do the Black tips signify ?????

Yeah, typ. black tip is AP.

Thanks guys. That is what I thought. I have an Eddystone Enfield that I'll take out to the range and burn the stuff up. This is something that I don't want to run through a 70 Winchester or a 700 Remington.

No biggie to run it through any of those, AFAIK.

Probably was ammo for a Garand and that stuff was loaded relatively mild.
