JBMasterAngler
I use swedish pimples or forage minnows...usually 1/8 oz. Silver is probably the best color to start out with. I've had equal success with euros and minnow heads.
pushbutton
No doubt about the silver, actually anything that is shiny. Add some noise....even better. Favorite setup is a tullibee or rainbow flyer with a Hali dropper. Bet something like a macho minnow with a dropper would be equally effective.....pimples also, have always been effective. The lake will ultimately determine how big the bait presentation,...in general ....as JB mentioned, a head or waxie or two will do. The more I fish for them though, the more I realize how cyclical of a fish they are, and think finding a lake that has a fishable population of them is more important than how you fish for them. If I were you and really wanted to catch some, would probably just head up LOW where there is for the last few years, some larger year classes just hanging out in the 30 to 34 ft basin areas. Set up really does not matter.....something as big as a 1/4 oz jig with a whole chub will get you fish.....just got to find them.
Pooh
I use a hammered silver spoon with a 16 our so inch dropper line to a small panfish jig. Main line and dropper line have ball bearing swivels to help with line twist.
