Esox hit it on the head, grab some new line at the store and re-spool even the cheaper line at the store will more than likely always be better then what comes pre-spooled. Plus you never know where that line came from in the first place, might be leftover junk from years before.

A trick I've found to keep coil down is to run the new line (after it's been spooled) under some hot water for a few seconde then dry. Forget who taught me this a while ago but I do it to all my spooled lines now and seems to work pretty well.
