I purchased a 8" and 10" from Reeds this year the 8" fits and works like a glove . I had to trim the heck out of everything to get the 10" to fit still doesn't work all that well . Would have returned it but the the shipping was double the price of the cover.Strikemaster Lazer augers.

Try linning the cutting edge of the blades up so they are just past the plastic nubs? that stick out on the inside of the snap cover.

that will make it easier for your auger to spread it when you snap your auger in. Set the snap cover on a flat surface and line the blades up, then push down on the auger and it should pop right in.

You may have to do it a few times to get the hang of it.

To remove it stand the auger up right and put your foot on one side and push down with your foot being carefull not to hit your leg with the blade. A quick movement works best.

Once you do it a few times it gets easier. My Nils was like that the first 4 or 5 times I did it. Once you get the hang of it you won't even think about it. Its the downward force that opens the snap cover.Once the rubber band lossens up a little it will be fine.

That's what I'm afraid of. Got mine from the same place and my shipping wouldn't be as bad but still would have $15 bucks+ in shipping costs. Shouldn't have to trim a new product to get it to work. it looks like its about a quarter inch off of working. Sounds like I'm not the only one that's had issues.
