What test? What will you be using this reel for?

XT stands for Extra Tough, which means it is quite stiff. And if you have too heavy of line it will pop right back off and cause a huge mess.

The XT is a bit more of a pain but shouldn't coil off your reel. I usaly put the lable face up, reel up 10-12 wraps and see if it coils. It it does , flip the spool over and repeat. I still think the best way is to have someone hold the spool with a pencil holding the spool up/down instead of laying it flat. However you do it, the trick is to get the line to come off the spool in the same direction as the factory put it on.

Trilene XT is also thicker in diameter, so dropping a line class or two is what one should do to put it on a spinning reel. The line is also better suited for the large spining reels. It's less likely to spring off the larger reel spool.

Are you keeping tension on the line while reeling? IE left hand holding line against rod above last eye before the reel and turning reel handle with right hand (or vice versa). crazy
