Question

Wife gave me a go ahead to buy new electronics. I have a 17 foot alumacraft Phantom and right now just 5 inch black and white graph and gps. Graph on counsel and GPS Eagle Elite 5 at the bow. Tough to see though if I want to troll.

I was thinking of getting a new terova 80 lb (I have 24 volts) with the link system and the humminbird 800 series with side imaging. Around $3500 or so. Is it worth it? I have been told to get a larger screen but that would not allow me to come under my limit for funds without dropping the terova. I have a motor guide (original) cable bow mount now.

Does that like the correct thing to do? 7 inch with the link and SI and a terova? I had a hard time understanding if Lowrance had a similar system.

Also , saving a chuck of change on the internet on tax is cool too. Where do I get it?

Thanks. I don't mean to sound ignorant, I'm just new to the newer electronics. I read the stuff from humminbird etc, but it is sales stuff. Not always helpful.

Thanks!

Craig

I run a Terrova and 'Birds. I can't see going any other way. I do not have the Ilink but that will just make it better. You will love the Terrova.

As far as screen size goes, bigger is always better. Last year I ran two 1198s and loved them. This year I dropped down to the 8" screens (two on the dash and one on the bow). Time will tell if that was the right move for me, but I will tell you that going from a 5" to an 8" is going to be a huge improvement, and great starting point.

www.profishingsupply.com is a great place to buy. Great prices, site sponsor and extremly knowledgable.
