thescottith
Just picked up a used model 30, about 25 years old. It had a busted clutch spring so I replaced both springs, however once you apply pressure to the auger to cut the ice the blade stops, the motor stays running and it will cut through the ice with a little bit of pressure and cut really slow, but it seems like I should be able to apply alot more pressure without the auger blade stopping. ANy ideas? I was thinking on cleaning the clutch and such but not sure whats really going on. Anyone have anything similar ever happen? and if so what was the fix? Any suggestions would be awesome, first ice auger I own so trying to get it in tip top shape. Thanks a bunch for your time.Scott

mmk8283
Make sure the clutch is as clean as possible, use some solvent to make sure its free from grease and oil. Lightly oil the moving parts only. If its still slipping it may be time to buy a replacement clutch.
