NateEboy-1
Could anyone help me out with a few places to duck hunt west of Maple Plain? I would like to take my boy out during Oct. when he is out of school for a few days. I am new to duck hunting a could use some help finding public access away from the crowds. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ken
CrankinEyes
Pope county is usally a good area for waterfowl. There is a good site that shows photos of Fed land or the DNR Rec. compass.Another way on the DNR Rec. Compass is to find a local lake and click on the "Red Dot" this will show the landing area and a photo of the lake. Look for a lake with cattails and very few houses (providing you have a boat). loc9fisher
go to gander mountain or another sporting goods store and get a PRIM map for the area you wish to hunt. they have help'd me out alot when i started looking for new places a few years ago. they are very detailed and tell you everywhere public in that area with good maps to get you there. good luck.........loc9
