On board charger question.

Recommended Posts

About 5years ago I installed a two bank on board charger for my two trolling motor batteries. Now I will have two AGM batteries. Will this charger work on the AGM batteries?

Do you still have the manual for your chargers? I have a dual pro and it has options to charge different types of batteries but I have to set it to do the charging, pull something out or something. I am guessing you can but you have to make a setting change on it. I have basic deep cycles so I have not had to change the setting. Otherwise google up your charger, there will be info that will tell you.

Generally, I believe with AGM you'll be OK but perhaps not optimum. If you had true gel batteries I think there is more of a need for specific charge profile.

It depends on the charger. The Duel Pro has a plastic plug that you change to charge differant types of batteries. Minnkota and Noco sence the battery type and switch by them selves.
