I think the WDNR went bonkers this year. 5/7 guys th t I know that applied, got tags this year all with different preference points. Last night I was reading the outdoor news and I see that they are discussing decreasing the bear tags for next year already before they even have harvest results? At any rate, we are excited to get a chance after a 5 year wait for a tag.

Ah yes, our wonderful DNR came to the realization awhile back that they had underestimated the bear population by roughly 50% - oops, it might be double what we had thought. Of course they have the deer population pegged to a T in each and every unit in the state.......

They still do a pretty good job, one I wouldn't want to have but they need to stop the obvious bull on the accuracy of their estimates.......nonetheless a topic for a different day!

Got mine with 9 points for way up north, but likewise heard of all sorts of people drawing tags who figured they didn't have a chance.
