MyDogRyder
As I am new to fishing on my own, I would really like to educate myself on species patterns throughout the year. Especially ice fishing, since I don't have a boat yet. Anyways, I was wondering if any of you guys have any quick FYI's for me or any links, websites, etc that I could check out to give myself a better chance at picking a location to fish on various lakes. I have always targeted Crappies, Walleye, Perch, and Sunnies. As I don't have a power auger nor a fish locator, I would like to know where on a map I should head for to maximize my fish caught to holes drilled (by hand) ratio.I guess the info I would be looking to learn would be, bait, depths, weed types, location in lake during seasons, type of bottom, weather patterns, etc. Thanks for looking and your help!!! FisH_SLaYer24
I have found that the Lakemaster Contour Elite Software is a very huge help for finding new areas for different species of fish as well as eliminating dead water. I have also found new areas to fish on spots that I frequently wet a line and have had more success that I was having before I picked up the software. Vitreus
I have found this HSOforum to be the best resource around. Some of these guys have been posting on here forever! Old guys with too much free time lol! Look at the species specific forums. Outdoor news, Minnesota sportsman, and the in-depth outdoors show on YouTube are all useful also.
