Crate training ?

Ok the little guy is doing good and I would consider him to be house broken. BUT!!! He sure likes to go alot and frequent. He sleeps through the nite no problem in his crate but once out (basically all day) he goes what seams like every hour on the hour. He's quick about it and wants to come back in as soon as he is done so i don't think he is going out just to be outside. No treats giving or praising him like when we first brought him home for going to the door.

My question is should i have him spend more time in his kennel during the day to learn bladder control better? He is real good about his crate so i don't or wouldn't feel like it was a punishment and I dont think he would either. But it would be nice if he had a little better bladder control.

Thoughts?

How old is the pup?

I'm not sure I'd worry too much about it. When puppies are running around playing they will need to go to the bathroom more often it seems so that could be whats going on.

Leaving him the crate on occasion when you are home might not be a bad idea though. It might teach him to hold it longer but it can also be a good idea to reinforce the fact that he might need to be in the crate when people are home from time to time.
