canvasback kid
to all that can help:I have a 1 3/4 yr old yellow lab, he is an awesome dog and has great personality and a great nose on him. The thing is a while ago I noticed him favoring his back leg(i noticed it when I was brining him to the trainer)the trainer said its probably his hips but I didnt think he was old enough for that, anyway I took him to the vet to get his hips x-rayed and it turned up that they were fine, the vet said it was his ligaments, my problem is I am a broke college student that cannot afford a $1000.00 surgery(thats what the vet told me it would be)and I have searched everywhere to see if any vets have any payment plans or will work something out, and have came up with nothing I dont know what to do. I pretty much stopped training him cause the trainer told me not to even train him cause once the weather cools down that leg will bother him even worse. The last thing I want to do is put him in anymore pain than he has to be in. When its warm like this it dont seem to bother him untill he lays down for more than a couple minutes or runs alot.I cant stand having him like this any info would be great. I will do anything to help out my hunting buddy!!!! Thank-you
bigdog
I would suggest looking for a different vet that would be willing to offer you financing options or a payment plan. You can also request a referral to the U of M Vet Hospital on the St. Paul Campus. It will probably run around $75.00 for a consultation but they may be able to provideyou some alternatives. I know they have financing available through Wells Fargo. The phone number for the main desk at the vet hospital is 612-625-1919.

LABS4ME
Try Park Grove Animal Hospital (Cottage Grove). Ask to talk to Dr. Dan Cedarstrom. 651-459-9663. I see you're from Duluth (so is he) and I know it's a long ways away.... but he's a super guy. Lab owner too! Bought one from me a couple years ago. I'm not saying he'll extend 100% credit... but he MIGHT work with you, or be able to refer you to a vet that's closer and willing to work with you. Maybe worth a try...Good Luck to you and your pal!Ken
