GSP4ME
I am looking for a new flasher that is easy to use and understand. I know that time on the water will help my figure any of them out. With that being said though there has to be some thoughts on which is easier to use then others. I had an FL8 many moons ago but have only had the full digital depthfinders for a long time now. Thanks for your help and thoughts
bturck
I have an fl18, for the past 10 years. I have found it very easy to use. The zoom feature is great when fishing deep water ie: lake of the woods looking for those bottom feeders. It doesn't t require a degree in electronics to run it. If I were to make a change today I would upgrade to the fl20 only because that unit eliminates the lip on the screen and is flat so it can be read easier at an angle. There will be lots of opinions on this subject for sure. My son in law has a marcum also a great unit. I started with the fl8 as you did and just stayed with the vexilar products. Just my .02 cens worth
SpecialK
Depending on your open water electronics, you may be able to convert them for use in winter That way you would already have a heads upon the equipment. On a side note, I just picked up one ofthe marcum Lx units and they are not that bad to learn. DaSwede
Showdown. Easiest "flasher" to use, hands down.

doomanmxz99
Look at Humminbird Ice 45 or 55. Alot of nice features and very easy to use. I have an FL-20 and an Ice 45 and I use the 45 all the time.
