Jiffy Propane Auger leaking propane

Trytti

Question

I went to use my Jiffy Propane auger for the first time this year and when I hooked up a fresh propane tank I could hear it slowly leaking propane. It seems to be coming right out of the fitting that attaches to the tank. I see there is a rubber gasket inside the fitting so I assuming maybe that is the issue? Anyone else had similar problems?

It was fine at the end of the year last year so I am not sure what could have happened unless the gasket shrunk or something?

Thanks

I could be wrong as I don't follow Jiffy much, but I somewhat recall there being an issue with the propane line that goes from the tank to the motor and Jiffy knows about it and may even be replacing them. Something to check out.

Yea, I checked a couple other places and heard of that problem. This is leaking right where it connects to the tank. I can feel where it is leaking when I put my hand on it. But I will try Jiffy and see what they say.

Yea, I did try a different tank and it did the same thing. And actually after I took the first tank off tt was still leaking so it must have been whatever propane was in gas line and the motor was still leaking out. Took a while for it to stop.

Called Jiffy and explained the problem and they said they have had similar problems. Apparently part of the fitting that the tank screws into weren't crimped correctly. Sending me a new part free of charge since i had warranty on it yet. Very good customer service dept.
