Cheers
What type of hook do you use for ice fishing walleyes with minnows as bait? What is the best style and size ?
JohnMickish
For under a bobber I usually use a small jig. This past weekend I experimented with the Fin-Tech knuckle ball jig. I have used this during the summer with good results but thought I'd give it a shot in winter. I believe the odd shape gives the minnow a unique up and down action. Last weekend out of the three of us, this one jig caught the majority of the fish. I was using a 1/32oz. The nice thing is that the hook is still big enough to catch good fish. I did land a 33" pike on one too!
