Mag 3 Auger

drewbop

Question

seeing if there is a fix for the little amount of trouble i'm having with my old mag 3 auger. it drills just fine and i can put a decent amount of pressure on it while drilling, but each time i get to the bottom of the hole it snags up and will not drill through. typically i have to baby it through the bottom while it gets snagged up and stops drilling.

is there a fix for it?

thanks-

it felt like the auger didn't have enough power to get through the ice. it would drill great until the last couple inches and snag up. i messed with the carb and made a few adjustments and now it works great-thanks for the advice tho-

Having to apply downward pressure = dull blades. Babying though the ice = dull blades and maybe, if your unit is like mine, many hours, like the tech at H2 said, "it is a little loose and seen better times."
