I usually bring my son out a couple weeks into the season but this year I cut a deal with him on his school work and he came through! He earned a spot in the boat on opening day! He is only 9 but those are 9 years of watching dad get ready for opener!

Sorry guys .. im just at a loss for words .. there arent any that would describe my anxiety. Im at a stage of double checking and triple checking decoys, and being sure thered nothing shining on the duck boat. Heck .. even the dog's acting funny .. he's knows somethings going on.

Im hunting public waters tomorrow so I'll head out early and sit out there a few hours before I can do anything .. but that will be better than sitting here right now ... my eyes locked up on a fruit fly crusing by a little bit ago .. its time to put the guns to work.

Just as I was going to hit *submit* a flock of geese cruised low over the house .. this just isnt fair.

I know the feeling dave! Went out for lunch today and the geese were sitting in the parking lot laughing at me! I know they were laughing I could see there beady little eyes with there toungs sticking out at me! ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Good Luck to everyone. Save some birds for me. I cannot go out this weekend for I have to work. I will be out Monday thru Wednesday though. I hope you guys don't shoot all my birds. I will be thinking of everyone out in the boats.
